Along with my new Coleman scooter I am building a predator 212cc powered 3-wheeler based on the Atomic Zombie Timber Wolf.
Have the engine, most of the frame is welded, most parts have come from BMI (22X11-8), tires are GBC Dirt Devil, TC, jackshaft, shocked pivot and springer front forks.
Building it to be able to pull 500 lbs replacing my old golf cart. Live in the country in southern NM and need a work rig that I can also use to climb the mts. close to us and as a bug-out ride.

Cool, I saw the pedal powered version after I looked it up, you might have to do some different steering stuff since the engine is more power than the pedals.

I have to apologize again for slow posts, only get to a computer 2 times a week.
I also figured someone would ask for pictures. Am barely computer literate, have no camera, but at some point I will try to find someone local to help post some pictures.
I am south of Deming, just north of the border a few miles. Lots of hills close for riding.
Waiting on parts for now. When complete I will list all parts used and give dimensions.

Here's a Google photo I found. We like pics and I'm sure some of us are asking what an atomic zombie is.

What's your plans for engine placement?
Looks like fun.

The engine mounts right behind the seat on an elevated mount that I salvaged from a Sear's shredder. Chain from the TC will go to a jackshaft and then to a 60t sprocket on the 1" live axle. Present thinking on jackshaft gears are a 20t driven from TC and a 10t driver to axle. I also have in mind to have an extra sprocket that can be shifted through the use of spacers and an extra short chain to garner a decent road speed as well as rock crawling speed.
Might even come up with a way to split the live axle to have choice of live or split axle for hard surface.

I am working on the front forks now and expect to receive parts for the jackshaft. Sure would be nice to have access to a lathe and mill.

Mounted jackshaft behind the engine. BMI TAV2 has 10t sprocket and planning to run to a 28t driven sprocket. Jackshaft driver will be 10t going to a 60t axle sprocket.
With 22X11-8 tires, will this be a good drive ratio for low speed power?

Welded up the front forks yesterday and had all 3 tires on the ground, temporarily. Need a front axle, have to go to El Paso for bolts of any size and try not to have to go there any more than necessary.

Sounds like your making good progress.
I was born and raised in EP. I try to stay away. There's not a hardware store in Deming? I know it's small but it's gotta have something.

You really need to get some pics posted.:cheers2:

All i see is people writing text in this thread. Where the pics at? I'm a visual person. I'm visualizing this huge engine way up in the air behind the seat.

Or maybe a small engine but still high in the back like this?

I do not have a camera, but when i have it finished I will find a friend who can shoot pics and load them onto the computer. It is exciting building this trike. I sit and commune with the trike daily, letting the mind run wild.
I have already figured out how to make a mini bike by altering the Timber Wolf, but keeping the 2 piece frame. With this design there are no frame parts in the way of installing a TAV, or anything else.

Ordered the grade #8 bolts that I needed to finish bolting things together. Saved a trip to El Paso.
Soon I will be taking thing apart to do sanding and cleaning up the steel prior to painting.
Will be removing the governor and low oil sensor while cleanup and painting is happening.
Soon, soon, soon.

Taking everything apart and prepping for paint and finish. Gussets for frame, custom seat, engine upgrade. I think I might have it runnig in a couple of weeks.
Looking for someone to take pictures of my project (local) and help post them. Soon.

---------- Post added at 09:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:07 AM ----------

I do have a question if someone would care to help. I have a TAV from BMI with 6" driven and 10T #41 sprocket. From the 10T driven sprocket I go to a 28T driven on the jackshaft. From the 10T driver on the jackshaft to 60T axle sprocket.
The tires are 22X11-8 and sitting on concrete are 22 1/2" in diameter. Is this a low enough gear ratio for low speed power?

All is sanded and painted. Engine is mounted, header on, improved intake, with jet and tube. Had to cut live axle at mid point to be able to move it around in the shop. Have plans to carry a coupling to join axle halves for sand and mud.
Working on steering now. Need idler for one chain from jackshaft to tighten chain.
Making custom seat.
Throttle and brake parts.

Turns out I have a 212 hemi. Paid no attention initially.

Had everything set up for recumbent riding and sat in the seat abd decided I did not like it. Cut the forward frame section and now it is set up for upright riding.
Seat is made and mounted.
Ordering cables, grips, caliper, more DOM tubing, idler sprocket.
After the orders arrive I should be able to wrap it up.
