Requesting the assistance of the Kart Guru’s that inhabit this site. My Girlfriend found this frame with all the parts except engine. At her “Suggestion” her Son and I will work together and get this up and running. We will be the third owners of this frame. Unfortunately, the previous holders of this frame know nothing of the Manufacturer, Model, or engine/driveline information. It is my hope; I could lean on the experience here, and learn something of the frame to assist us with the correct engine a driveline.

Thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

Hey- Love the camo. I don't know what it is, but I'm sure someone here will. Looks like a pretty standard 1wd setup, though. You should have no problem going out and getting your choice of engines ranging from 5-8 hp (or more) and a basic centrifugal clutch.
Cheers- Chris

paydirt??

:wai: While surfing subjects here. I stumbled across a shop owners website in Houston. (Not too far from where I live) I can see a now, that I will be spending my money at his shop. He has the same cart on his home page(http://www.gokartsoftexas.com). I believe it may be a Thundercart.

After more research, I am positive it is a ThunderKart. Now I need model information to make sure I get driveline correct. I am looking at the Harbor Freight 6.5 that is on sale now for $99. Then work with Blazkowiez's shop to configure the drive train. I also want to look at getting the tire setup Blazkowiez uses on his ThunderKart rebuilds.

the drive line should be pretty simple, but there is nothing wrong with having someone help you out, if you get the hf 6.5 pickup a popular science, or popular mechanics magazine, most of them have a 20 percent off coupon for harbor freight.

Yeah, not really much more to say here, High5 on the Thunderkart thing. Its a later model than when it was one of the old S-700 models though its still made in Roseland, its more or less a Karting International Thunderkart. Great frame.

I'm not 100% but I believe you may end up needing to bend part of the cage near the engine mount plate to fit the tank on the clone engines, these karts came with a 5hp engine stock when it was new so 6.5 will work just fine. Looks like it has the throttle down braking mechanism still on there so it most likely had a Tecumseh and not a Briggs. Cool seat man, look forward to seeing this at the shop sometime.
