is there any equation or estimate or any way to tell how long it will take to reach your top speed using that info without physically doing it??
say on a perfectly flat asphalt road...

I am not sure that you would be able to do that, as there are so many variable that you have to take into account, such as rider and kart weight, road surface, tyre size, gearing, engine HP (which might not always be the advertised HP) etc...

Maybe someone else can give you some more of an idea if it is possible...

1. 16in tires
2. Lifan 125
3. 7500rpm
4. 4 speed manual (3.7 primary reduction)
5. Live axle
6. 14
7. Need help with choosing!
8. 300lb
9. Off road with few hills
10. Looking for moderate speed(40ish)
and some good torque!!!

I am buying this engine this weekend its a CB400N

I currently have 13in tires but I will be replacing these when funds allow with 18 quad wheels

1. 18in tires
2. CB400N In line Twin 43hp
3. 10,000rpm redline (max power at 9,500rpm)
4. 6 speed manual Overall ratios of
19.2, 13.7, 10.9, 9.0, 7.6 and top 6.5:1
5. Live axle
6. 16 #520
7. Need help with choosing! (have 42 #420 but need #520)
8. about 300
9. Off road and beach
10. I want good acceleration with about 50-60 mph

I am fitting this engine some time next week I need a new axle sprocket but as I am ordering a custom laser cut one I want to know if its best to change the tooth count

I have a choice from 31 to 60 teeth any more info needed just ask

putting a 7 hp on a formally 150 chinese quad. have to use a jackshaft for proper rotation. Quad has a 50 chain w/ 36 teeth rear axle sprocket, jackshaft has 50 chain w/14 teeth. motor has 35 chain w/ 12 teeth. need sprocket for input of jackshaft. Due to the differences in the sprocket sizes and diameters i'm stumped. Tires in the rear of quad are 22". Jackshaft is 1/2 dia.
