Are all 4x4 atvs shaft drive?

Well the title says it all, Are all atvs with 4wd shaft drive or are some chain drive?


I live where there is alot of woods so i want shaftdrive so the chain wont fall of if i hit a rock.

I was wondering when i was looking online at the 4-wheelers becase some ads do not say.

for the most part yes shaft, though i believ i have seen a few with a chain driven front axle. they have skid plates and cages. be nice to have a chain drive for a kart though.
