Thanks alot Kelly Wood. i stopped at the bike shop this morning after class and got a derailer cable for $8. cut it to length and it fits and works great!

rather than making a new post (unless i need to) ive got another question. i got a whole kit (top plate, fuel pump, intake, exhaust, choke hold and so on) my issue is that the new fuel line that goes with the fuel pump is bigger than the factory fuel line. any suggestions on how to fit it to the carb as the fitting on the carb is obviously smaller than the new fuel line?

Might need to get a reducer barb and connect that with a piece of the old fuel line. Some auto shops might have that...
Or sadly, get new fuel line.

I've got all that on a blue clone and used a reducer barb I got at NAPA and the carb gets all the fuel it needs,no problems.

Only commenting so I can find this later. Ran into the same problem. My throttle cable is too fat to fit through the casing. The casing was already on my kart. It had a throttle cable on it aswell but there was no plastic casing on the cable. Just bare cable so I'm guessing someone before me had the same problem and just went bare cable with no sheath. The (brass) is it? Ball thing you have posted. I dont have that. As I said the kart is old and the cable is bare. Maybe it was previously lost or taken off but does that go over the cable inside the the brass casing?
