It does look way more cool but I guess the real big difference is the extra bearings. But how can you tell when to upgrade? When a better cam is installed?

On a fun kart, that may be the most pointless thing you could buy for the money. Those aren't needed unless you are racing at very high sustained RPM or making huge power. Now, it won't hurt anything having it, but it isn't necessary in 95% of the applications out there.

What would you define as "high RPM or huge power"?
Would you say anywhere between 8-10hp at 7-10k RPM?

I would say rmm727 has it said perfectly. My bsp clone makes over 10hp and it is doing just fine with the stock side cover.

What engine mods do you have now ?
