Anyone own a manco dingo with a 212

Looking to find someone who has a manco dingo with a 212 and to see how fast that thing goes I wanna get a 212 hemi but afraid it won't be fast enough I need input my next option is 301cc predator

My brother has a manco 485 which is almost the same thing. Predator 212 with an ebay torque converter. 10t on the TC and a 48t on the axle. It goes about 35mph.

I have the frame. The engine crank shaft is stripped i guess i will sell that for parts. But i have the frame which is in pretty decent condition. The only issues are the seatbelt is rusty and the seat leather in worn out slightly. Also can use a little wash. But you can buy an engine for like 120. And a torque converter for like 60. But i have the torque converter its just missing the screw that screws it into the shaft.

A modified 212 will push the dingo about 45mph and is a blast to drive. I'm a bigger guy at260 and I wanted more so I put a 20+ hp gx390 in it that thing had good power but I still wanted more so now I am building a 30+ hp 440 to rock the dingo

18" tires will go 35 mph
22" tires will go 40 mph.

The large dingo karts will need a big engine to be fun (e.g. 8-13 hp)
The small dingo karts dont need much to be fun (5-7hp)
I have the 18" tire dingo (smaller version) and it required a lot of modifications to get the 13 hp engine to fit back there.

Id say if it came with a large engine mount and a 40 series, stick with a large engine. If it came with the small block engine mount, then there is nothing wrong with the predator 212cc. If you want it to go fast (which it already does stock), then you can always mod the predator.

If you are wanting to have a lot of accelleration and dont mind modifying the engine mount and whatnot, the big block engines are really fun. Just depends on your budget and level of fab skills on what you would do.

Kartfab those speed numbers is that with the 212cc is that engine you are using in mind if so I will pick up a hemi 212 today

Go kart myth. Bigger engine=faster go kart

Truth. All industrial 4 stroke engines are governed to about 3600-3800 rpm max. Rpm dictate speed, not engine size.

Predator 212 hemior non hemi, Subaru ex17, Briggs 5 hp flathead, tecumseh OH60, Honda gx200, greyhound honda gx 390, gx670, predator 420, predator 670, whatever. They all operate at governed rpm of 3600 ish.

Bigger engines can be geared differently as they won't stall as easily under load. So a predator 212cc with 30 series is great for a small or moderately sized kart up to 35ish mph.

Anything 8-18 hp can be geared on larger karts with 40 series up to 40 mph.

These are general guidelines based on my own opinion, which comes from my observations of popular karts from the 90s-2000s

So what I get from all that is it's easier to get a 212 and boost the rpm then to buy a expensive 14hp just to do the same

For a small manco dingo kart, yes. 212 cc is much more popular.

Bigger engines have the same top speed, but they accelerate there faster.
