Looking to get someone's 2 cents on the gear ratio setup I'm thinking of running I'll be running a #41 chain with a axle spocket 31 teeth to a TAV with 10 teeth on a 30 series setup do you think thats enough torque to the wheels to get this buggy rolling without a push?20170115_125014.jpg
Oh and tires are 9x9.5-8

No. You need Like 60 or70 tooth Sprocket with those tires. The Torque Converter and 301 is helping.
Usually you need 60 and 10 with up to 15" tires and lighter kart But with the 301 and the TC you can still use 60 or 70 and 10.
If Bob58o drops in he can give you a bunch of Confusing formulations to tell you why.

What is the bolt pattern?
How many bolts?
How big are the bolts?
How far apart are the bolts?
This link tells how to measure depending if even or odd number of bolts.
http://sprocketspecialists.com/rear-sprocket-conversions-measuring-bolt-patterns/

Two bolt pattern examples are...

- (4) bolt pattern for 5/16" bolts on a 2-13/16" bolt hole circle
- (4) bolt pattern for 3/8" bolts on a 2-7/8" bolt hole circle

Another is...
3 bolts on a 1-11/16" Bolt Circle
Or...
4 bolts on a 4" Circle
4 bolts on a 5-1/4" circle

Yep see if you can find a #41 60T sprocket that matches the bolt pattern of the hub.
Then you are going to need to remove the rear axle (at least half way) to swap the sprocket. I wish I had a split sprocket type set up.

Sooo you can start with the penetrating oil when ever you like.

60 tooth gives him what, about 30mph top. Almost same setup I have. Remove govener and get ~50mph maybe more. He's not moving with that 30...... Wonder what was on there before?

So Bob... Do you like the 60 tooth? for a gear ratio. With his set up?

Sure I like 60T.
6:1 seems about right.
Should have good low end.
Starting with a 60:10 is good. You could switch to 60:9 or 60:8 for more torque or switch to 60:11 or 60:12 for more top speed.

I find it hard to believe that the 301 has 84% more torque than the 212cc, but that is what the specs say.

I'm going to try 60:11 with 18.5" tires with a 420cc engine and 40 series. Hoping to do 50mph at 5000 RPM.

Thanks yall I'll try to get the bolt pattern and the bore figured out its a Helix 150 by American sportworks not sure if that helps any it used to have a 150cc Gy6 motor

Where did you get that number from? By my calculations, top speed will be closer to 40mph...
Most likely, a GY6...

6:1 19.5" tires and 5000 RPM. Plus the TC overdrive. 50MPH.
and yes he stated it had a GY6

What is the proper way to measure such a thing. Center of hole? Inside of holes, outside edge of holes?

Center of bolt hole adjacent diagnol to other bolt hole

Just weld a big ^$$ sprocket onto to old sprocket.

Sure. Anything is possible, and that's actually a great idea--the old sprocket would even act as a stiffener of sorts.

He could even find the right sprocket but with the wrong bolt holes and adapt it to fit (drill new holes) making sure that everything is centered precisely before drilling (to eliminate wobble).
