Anyone ever use trunk struts as shocks?

Theoretically would work, high pressure, have good "bounce", fairly good travel... a tad long... but still

You would probably need to use multiples on each wheel. If you got them from the J/Y, might be an option to try.

wont work. The rod will just bend. Ive done it with my hands before. Maybe you could put it in a tube to prevent it form bending,

they would blow out first trip out . There not made to move that fast

Even if the total weight each strut was supporting, was the same as the load they were designed for... they still wouldnt work worth a crap used as shocks.

they would just fully compress in a matter of seconds. if you hit a bump it wouldnt return up unless you pulled up on it.
