I said in an earlier thread that i got that quad earlier for 30euro.

Its supposed to be 250cc, but im thinking that its 200.
Anyway, the engine is made by a company called Zongshen, i have never heard of them before.

Does anyone know if they are a company copying Yamaha or something, or are they a company out on there own?

The engine its self is good quality, and looks ok.

I got it to turn over by getting a wire from starter going to the battery and grounding the other, but no spark, but its just in the wiring. I will have to rewire the quad and take off all the unnecessary pieces.

I will make a thread describing all this for any who are interested, but at the moment, im just doing a bit of research.

I've got a dirtbike with a 250cc Zongshen engine, Its pretty good. It's a 2003 model and I've never had a problem with it, the gearbox is quite clunky though and sometimes it's really difficult to change gears. The engine its self is a copy of a Honda CD250 engine (a commuter bike built in the '80s). It's got a fair bit of power, it'l lift the front wheel in 3rd without the clutch :D.

Zongshen are one of the big players in the Chinese engine industry, they were probably the most popular of the Chinese engine companies, Lifan seems to have taken that spot now though.

Thanks

Hayden
