I have a coupla hydraulic cylinders.
Enough scrap material for a bridge.
"Scrap" is a generic term referring to all metal
Acquired at scrap or fire sale prices including free.
Not to be confused with trash.
We have standards her @ MTL.
Very low standards, but standards just the same!
looks like a straight forward project but tips, tricks, techniques are always welcome.
Heckling, smart azz remarks, and hijacks all earn eatra points.
i'm gonna let dis simmer for a few days. Taking the weekend off to go thrash my junk in the desert

No one but you (in a future timeline, mirror universe). Totally fascinated by the ones that can lift cars. What a boon for the guy who doesn’t have the facility for the old timey in-ground hydraulic lift ”pillar” or the gantry types.

I'm going to suggest this: No hydraulics, use motors and acme threaded rod. I don't know why engine hoists aren't embracing this idea also, much more control and no threat of the object just dropping.

Very cool.
Is that built or bought?
Mind sharing some details?
I searched for over the last year seeking a lift of some kind to support and balance these buggy's. Prices ran 750 to over 1k.. Not going to happen on my budget. I've been watching this HFT motorcycle lift for a long time and waited... Currently on sale for $150off... making it $449. Jumped and couldn't be happier. Most lifts or table like are only about 36" long.... this one is close to 8'. and will rise close to 30" high.

At 73, it's been so rough getting down on floor, butt, knees...to work on 3+ of these buggy's, no more
Thats a common problem with us old guys. Getting down is tough, getting off the floor is a challenge on a whole different level. While the HF table looks like it is exactly what i need, its $440 more than my budget. It looks easy enough to build, l would need to buy some material. My inner cheapskate would pitch a fit.
So for now its the hook and sawhorses.

Yes, I could see this with practicality and frugalness, but the instability of swinging could be problematic for control... plus, i am on a rock floor.
