That's the kind of thing you usually have to come up with yourself. The plane in my photo is a Bud Nosen Trainer, which was made by a company that's no longer around as far as I know. It was designed for a single .60 engine, but I've seen them with twice that, which is way too much. I modified it to fly with four engines. The ones in the photo are OS 26 four stroke engines, for a total of 1.04 cubic inches, which also is way too much. It would hardly sit still on the runway. The way I designed it, the nacelles and engines could be removed and replaced by a single .91 in the nose without changing the center of gravity.

That's a huge plane, with a 102" wingspan. That kind of stuff is a lot of fun, but you need a big space to fly it. If you want to build a multi engine model, I can offer some advice. I've done a few of them. In addition to the Nosen I also built a tri-motor Telemaster and a twin Eaglet trainer. I also built a push-pull plane called the RCM Twin Scooter, although I didn't like it much.

ok so i got my prop on hope its the right way in i also have just a regular nut and bolt to hold the hub on it seems to be ok. theres no wobble in the hub and i did use some threadlocker on the bolt so it shouldn't fly off :). i do know the prop is awfully close to the engine. i may have some trouble getting the prop to pull the air Around the engine but it shud be ok i hope.

I can't really recommend a good radio because just about everything is good nowadays except the radios that come prepackaged with cheap models.

The old fashioned FM radios are cheaper, but the new 2.4gHz radios allow you to simply use them without worrying about interference.

Regarding your control installation, just use standard servos. You'll never notice the difference between them and fancy servos unless you are flying a super high performance competition aerobatics airplane or a helicopter. Likewise for fancy push-pull rudder controls. Just make it as simple as possible. This is an airboat for cryin' out loud. I would think that the servo would be located below the propeller, and the rudder would have a long rod at the hinge line going down to the servo. Is that what you're thinking?

Take the spring off the throttle and allow the servo to open and close it all the way in each direction. Use a semi stiff metal cable or a solid rod to operate the throttle. If you need ideas on how to connect to the throttle arm, look up a product called the Du Bro EZ Connector. I use those all the time.

I'm no air boat expert. Your best bet is to look at youtube videos of air boats. I've checked a few out, and there seems to be a standard design for rudder linkage.

idk whats wrong with it. im using the fuel recommended frome the local hobby shop in it and the prop is the stock prop. i have heard bad things about the supertigers so i don't no if its just me or my engine but its ben nothing but trouble. the bottle of fuel i have says 15% nitro fuel and thats what the guy at the hobby shop recommended for it but idk. the sad thing is is the boat is over 3 years old and have maybe less thin a hour of use on it i. i payed over 350 for Everything when i bought it so know its sets in the closet. lol

I'm digging the airboat. I started scratchbuilding one a few years back, but it ended up on the back-burner because of everything else I have going on. Hull is constructed of luan plywood stripped from an old hollow-core interior door. No plans, just some sketches.

Nitro engines can be really finicky if you're unfamiliar with them. When I was a teen, I had a nitro car that just gave me fits because I didn't understand the engine (ironic, eh? LOL). I eventually traded it off. If I only knew...

Anyways- I figured out the prop/engine reversal thing, and cheap me figured on simply mounting the engine facing forward. Screws up the scale appearance, but at least it would pull properly.

thanks doc sprocket. i may have a change of plans for my boat tho. a friend wan't to buy the hull so he can use a 62cc McCulloch chainsaw engine on it so i was thinking of going with a boogie board. im looking at it this way i made my hull for about $35 and he want's to buy it for $60. idk what boogie boards are going for but thay cant be more thin $25 so either way im still making money:) and i like the boogie board airboats there cool.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRgyUdC6kq0

When you say you're using the stock prop, what are the numbers on it? If you overload the engine it will run hot, and then you have to richen the mix, then it doesn't run right. Also, different glow plugs can affect the handling.

About a year and a 1/2 ago i got into rc cars and trucks after years of wanting one.Its adicting and fun but they break a lot.I got into it with a Traxxas Slash 4x4 and a Onyx charger and it was fun but it broke every time i ran it.I got more cars and trucks that also were fun but again they keept breaking so much and after spending over $2k in a few months i stopped baying parts and put that hobby on the side burner. It is a lot like carting with the gear ratios, tires and many other similarities.Battery times kinda suck.I would say its as if not just as costly as carting.

lol i just gave my brother one of my cox engine and guess what he did with it? he took a soda can cut it in half and cut the frunt of it of to make a square nose so he cud make a lil airboat hull out of it. he believe it or not soldered it all together even made a cage for the lil 2'' rotor blade that he got of a small helicopter and even has a servo hooked up to the rudder to steer it. this thing even runs in the grass. i got to get a video of this thing cus it awsome!!!!
