any way to add another seat to a murray explorer

I have a Murray explorer and want to add another seat, not for a full size person, just somewhere for my 4 year old sister to sit because the 4 point harness doesn't fit around us both. once she doesn't fit there she can just drive our manco American express. The (photo is of the internet but there the same make/ model)

...but, that's probably NOT a good idea

No. Any further discussion this could turn into a 'natural selection' post.

To be fair, it's no worse than my dad putting me on a dart with twin irect drive Macs when I was 11 and trying to pull it with a yamaha dirt bike and rope to start it. And then sharing his beer with me cause he never brought water or pop.

Long story short, now I'm a 50 yo alcoholic still playing with go karts.

Moral of story: be careful what you do with and around your kids. Lol.

There's really no way to safely do it without widening the entire frame.

Anything short of that, and you might as well ratchet straps a chair to the top of the cage

i already drilled holes in front of the pedals for removable pegs so that i don't go to fast,by using them i can adjust the top speed from 10-40 mph, and there are no bumps just a smooth dirt driveway, i just can't steer or control the cart well with her in my lap because the harness doesn't fit and she slides forward, she's perfectly safe and wears a helmet with neck support, she's just not comfortable. she's only half a foot away from reaching the pedals on the american express but i want to be able to teach her how to drive with her in my lap incase i need to take over control, and the american express has a downgraded engine and cant even carry me.

Adding a person to the width on that narrow of a kart near guarantees that if there is a rollover or side impact, someone is going to get hurt or worse. You can't add people without adding frame to protect the people, no matter what age they are.

If you are driving on flat ground where rollover risk is near zero, you could probably make a sidecar of sorts to attach to the frame and rides on a small wheel. Could make somekind of clamp to the frame. Rubber casters might be easier than a single wheel to mount and on the kart. Very similar to a motorcycle sidecar.
