I have a Traxxas Slash 4x4 with the VXL brushless. Has the ESC fan and front and rear seat bars, stiff setting. Just running 7.4V NiMH, may switch to 2s Lipos at some point. If I ever jump to 3s, I'm swapping the ESC and motor for Tekin or Castle.

Nice! Go 2s, waaaay better than NiMh :wai:

I know of some cheap ones if you want a link

3s will just break stuff too much, hard to control

I'm set up on Tower hobbies. Yeah I already have a charger that can do balance charging for LiPo.

I used to have a traxxas revo 3.3 nitro RC, that thing was awesome. I love the nitro ones, but if I ever got another one I'd probably go with electric. But I probably won't get another one anytime soon, because I realized that I'd rather be on a go kart than just controlling an tc truck remotely:D

Electric is the way to go now. Nitro engines are too finnicky to tune properly and the slightest change in temperature messes the thing up. Top of that run time is as long as a tank of fuel lasted and they are just as fast or faster. Wish I could get the XO-1 from Traxxas for 100mph speed runs.

I've had 6 or so different nitro rcs, mostly trucks, one car. Had a HPI savage Xl that was probably the fastest truck. Had a savage x 4.6, which was surprisingly tough, never broke anything on mine(besides beating up the body), and it ran really well right up until I wore it out. It eventually had just lost compression but I ran over 2 gallons of fuel through that truck alone. Had 3 different tmaxx's, had a duratraxx warhead, which I was never able to get tuned right. Had a few traxxas 4tec cars but never had anywhere good to run them.

I've sold all of my nitro stuff at this point. I bought some electrics and don't think ill ever bother with anything else except maybe a 2 stroke 1:5 scale if I find a good deal.

I really want to get a traxxas xmaxx but they're so expensive new and not many for sale used.

I liked the trucks because there was a bmx track near me i could drive them on and hit jumps, but they tore it down now and I sold off all the trucks

I've got several rc airplanes I've built and lots of parts to build more. One decent Heli, a couple cheap quadcopters. Two old rc boats that haven't been ran in 3-4 years. I have a blue devil destroyer model kit I was planning on building and putting rc equipment in it but thats been sitting for a while

I have had a bunch of losi , Hpi , and team associated vehicles. Didn’t like traxxas so I never got any of them.

I agree with the electric over nitro. Nitro is a pain to tune. It's awesome to run, but noisy and makes a mess.

Electric is charge and go

Possessions are equivalent to talent now?

I don't know what you mean but it does take talent in all fields of our hobbies. Just because you launch a boat on the waterway, don't mean that it's coming back when you finish. It can be costly. It takes a lot of talent to make that boat perform like it should. It takes talent to build a go kart and actually be able to drive it more than 50 feet without something falling apart on it or the engine quiting. Talent comes in many forms and I can tell by one's possessions, what talents they have whether it's welding, CNC, computer, paintings, etc. etc. So, yes, you possessions can show your talents, and you should show them proudly.

That said, I got a new radio for my racing V-Hull yesterday by SkyFly RC and I can load 10 different vehicles into the programming. What I find that is nice with this 2.4 ghz. radio is that you don't have to bind or program the receiver to it! It's already done for you as it should be. I also got two new batteries 11.1v 3c @ 3000 mah for me to run in series. I am currently looking for a large scale hull over 4' long if anyone has a source for them kits. Over 50" would be cool. I've also been looking at building a 30" or so v-hull running two out board engines and look traditional. It is cool to see them scale outboard motors in action. I also bought two IMAX B6AC dual voltage battery chargers( and they both work) and I don't know if they are China made or not, even though most stuff is made in China now-a-days. I bought the dual chargers because, that way I can take one to the lake with me or out in the field. I do have a 12v set-up for my Bigfoot that comes with it( called a cigarette lighter charger :D) . I also got the 'wall wort' charger for my Bigfoot truck.

Wow, this is so cool to see all these great responses and I figures this would be OK for an off topic discussion and a nice respectable family type discussion at that. BTW, I got a cool white albino alligator to glue to the top of the air boat and will be buying the cockpit seats soon.

Thanks for all the great responses and HAPPY THANKSGIVING to those who celebrate it!!!!!!, Scott

nice, i have a few rc helicopters blade msx, msr, blade 120, and even had rigged up a camera on one of them. That was before quad-copters and drones were a thing. I'm thinking i should sell them now.

Hey Cobra you need to come over and join RCgroups...tons of great guys and info over there. The boat section is awesome

I am in RCGroups. I joined in 2007..... Yes, Those folks really do their best to get anyone on the right track.

I love helicopters myself and I have the Falcon 40 which I believe is from the 80's. I have everything in the original box and I do not believe it's been airborne yet. I've tried practicing on my tile floor but when it starts to lift and lean, I stop and put it back on the shelf :D I try like crazy to get it trimmed but just am afraid to launch it. Someday I will though.
I am also into aerial photography and photography in general and enjoy what I do. I've captured some cool specimens and all are taken from my backyard so far............

Been scouting for a new RC boat over 50" and found a few leads. I'm afraid to order from China because it's not like I'm dropping $10 here and there for cool products I see coming from them every so often. Looking at another charging system also. Nothing wrong with my China 'knock-off' but being prepared. Had the air boat on the lake today but even though I took three batteries with me, I came back home after only using one because it was a bit windy ( 10 to 15 MPH)and you can imagine what that does to an air boat. Can't wait till I get a new 'SERIES' pig tail so I can take out my V-hull racing boat for a spin. What charging systems do you use?? Thanks.

I have the Hitec X1 multicharger. It comes with a balancer bar for lipos. It can work off a car battery for out in the field use. Will charge NiCad, NiMH, LiPo and lead acid. Well worth the price.

Not many boats over 50". I know of a few china ones I'll link later

As for those chargers, you need a good quality one. Those are cheap and can mess up lipos. I'll link one of the best bang for the buck ones tomorrow
