Hi all. Just wondering if anyone likes to bike on the forum. I was also wondering if anyone likes to build bikes. I have some pics attached of my current project. A GT bmx bike with some generic forks and bars mated to it and a sexy paint job. Im attempting to convert it to 7 speeds.

Where do you ride?
What do you ride?
Pics of your bike?

i have an old ten speed, a mongoose freestyle 20", gsxr750, a cat 350 slingshot. have owned a diamond back assault (best bike i ever had). an lt80, a 350 warrior, '81 ody and my kart. i've had quite a bit more in my life. i think i will always own a good 20" bike. funny thing, the last two (20" bicycles) were stolen. i ride street, mainly jumps or curve searching. but as you get older, things take way longer to heal and you don't get any of the down-time you do as a kid. not to highjack, but how many have had success with lacing up rims?

DK Six Pack with a bunch of aftermarket or modified parts, most notably GSport Homer female-axle hubs (uses a 20mm hollow billet steel axle with 9/16" bolts instead of 14mm and massive cartridge bearings) and GSport Ribcage rims (hand laced with SS spokes by myself), S&M Race XLT handlebars cut down to 25", TREE billet threaded barends, wedge mod seatpost. Ride trails as well as some park and street.

nice bike. i only laced one set. i looked at one rim, saw how to stagger them and had them all in place in about an hour? once you get about 3/4 of the spokes in, is where the fun begins.

I was just gonna lace one up tonight but that didn't go too well... I't takes alot of skill and patience to lace one up. I'll have to try sometime on a crap rim. That sucks that your bikes where stolen mike, that's a nice way to ruin ones day. Newrider you gotta nice bike to. Do you know how much it weighs in at?

Thanks; somewhere between 25 and 30 lbs, not the lightest, but balanced perfectly, and the quality of the bearings in the hubs alone makes it feel lighter to ride.

I got a 2006 Kona stinky for downhill and freeride, and a 2009 specialized p1 for urban and dirt jumps. Both of them ride very nice and i have a couple of aftermarket parts on each.

(My camera is not working so these are not actual pics of my bikes, but are the same exact model and year)

anyone else into downhill mountain biking?

I wish I could do some down hill on my cannondale but I'm lacking in hills around my house. Me and my friends just ride the street or bike down on a trail in the creek. I wish Minnesota grew some mountians...
