Any airgun guys on here?

I haven't messed with a bb gun in a decade...mostly because MN sucks...need to fill out a 4473 to buy one. Airsoft? Had a couple cheap ones from Wal-Mart, never did buy a proper one. My friend has quite a few...M16A1 variant with a M203 under it. An AK variant, a CO2 Dan Wesson copy .357 revolver (we practice hitting pop cans from 30 yards, did quite a number), an M60 with bi-pod (freaking heavy), a CO2 1911 and my personal favorite a co2 Sig Sauer P226.

I've thought about buying an air rifle, but I just love my Marlin 336 too much to want to get one, even though they are cheap.

Whaaaaat? You have to fill out a freaking form to buy a BB gun?! That's crazy. Here in Ga yu walk into Walmart, take it to checkout, be at least 18, and walk out with it lol.

Your friend has some nice guns!! I want to get a revolver. They look super fun.

I've gone through 2 Benjamins, 2 Daisys, 1 Sheridan, 3 Crossman co2 pistols and 1 Crossman rifle Model 1766. I wore them all out except the Crossman 1766. I bought them all new and the 1766 (bought about1976) is the only one still going. I still have the steel bb trap my dad built me so I could shoot year round in the basement or garage. I was a he!! of a shot!

i have air rifle and I have to keep it in metal cage , separate from ammo, locked, it is registered in police , and police can randomly knock on my door to see if I store it properly. They did once ..

Might be an obvious suggestion, but have you thought about contacting Crosman in Germany and seeing if they could help you out??

yeah airguns in general aren't as popular anymore around here I guess,
they don't pop up on garage sales or flea markets or such..
and used ones on ebay are not too common either.
I do remember the good ol Diana35 years..
everyone and their dog had one, 80% with custom spring

... then kids died ... and the fun disappeared and with it most of the rifles.

I contacted Crosman USA (luckily emails don't care about time zones)
But they don't have the dimensions for me either and they sure don't sell any magazines any longer (they don't for 20 or so years they said)

the magz pop up every now and again on ebay but always in the 40 bucks plus range (for a 7 dollar part that's kinda steep)
And most of the time plus shipping even... So I'm not too interested

I'm not exactly a gun person anyways...
I like mechanical contraptions and that does include a handfull of guns;
But if I want a hole to appear a drill does the trick for me let's say

@Sid, bummer man. I'd just keep en eye on eBay and maybe one will pop up cheap. Do y'all have Craigslist over there? Or the equivalent? Maybe post a wanted ad and someone will help you out.

It is pretty much the same here with keeping guns. Police can check any time they want.

It doesn't help AT ALL, because there are so many illegal guns around and the police are too stretched anyway to try and police legal gun ownership

Well, we need to keep our guns in a guncabinet (it's a safe essentially)
and the ammo must be behind another locked door within that safe
gun cabinets must be approved (penetration tested)
and when the rules change you must upgrade your cabinet as well ...
and your safekeeping (as well as the seal of approval) will be checked every once so often.

Or you can store your guns at a gun range
which is what most people do with their hand guns anyways
(the gun range takes care of most of the paperwork for you )

You want people to have a drivers license,
so that untrained humanoid doesn't inadvertently kill anyone with the car/bike/boat/plane
And we just do the exact same thing with guns.
if you get pulled over driving intoxicated or irresponsibly you can get your drivers license revoked
(we do essentially the same thing with guns.. got in conflict with the law especially for some act of violence... no (more) gun for you!)
And frankly, again I do see the benefit of that.

Just count the people you know you don't like the idea of them being anywhere near a loaded gun... if you run out of fingers you might agree with me

But this gets into political realms (we don't want that here)
so maybe I should just say.. I'm glad I live in a country where you need to
PROVE you can responsibly and safely handle a gun before you are allowed to own one

Oh jeeze guys, can we please NOT get into a political debate here about this, like 'Sid already mentioned.

Lots of Southern members (me included) on this site who feel strongly about guns and this conversation could go downhill very quickly. My opinion is if you do not live in the US, you don't really have a reason to talk about our laws and 2nd Amendments rights (no offense). I'm not going to talk about some of the other countries represented in here laws and how I feel about all that...with that said, BB/pellet airguns are not classified as true "guns" in the US, so no need to talk about gun rules and regulations anyway. I will say however 'Sid, that in order to buy an actual gun here in the US, anything .22 and up in caliber, you have to go through a background check and have paperwork done first, as well as be 18 for a shotgun/rifle, and 21 for a handgun. Now private sales are different, but I'm sure any country has people who use that to not have to go through the system. The reason we don't have to "prove" we are "able" to own guns is because it is a right given to us in the Constitution...we don't have a "right" to drive a car, so therefore we must pass a test.

Now, back to airguns, my laser boresighter came in the mail yesterday. Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day so hopefully I can make some noise and tear up some paper plates.

At one point I thought its be fun to have a nicer multi pump 22 air rifle. But, those days are gone... Ill stick to firearms.

Though, I do have the obligatory red ryder bb gun, a daisy powerline 856.

I did have a chinesian springer 117. It was about as loud as a 22. That was a pretty fun one.

I've got about 5 or 6 rifles and and 4 or 5 pistols.
My favorite by far is my TS-45 side cocker in .177
Favorite pistol is a beeman p1 also in .177

I live where I could shoot what ever I wanted in my yard but I like the air guns cause I can plink all day and it doesn't cost but a few doll hairs for pellets.

Very nice guys!! WTR those airguns all look great. Awesome collection. I hear ya on the cheap ammo part. I can buy a tin of .177 pellets for like $10 for 750 pellets. So cheap to shoot.

Shooting, yes... airguns, no ....

I did recently looked at my umarex ppk/s pistol.....I havent opened the case in a number of years.... The thing was pressed in and molded into the foam.... I store it in a lockable pistol case. Nice little gun.... the same as the real gun, just CO2
I cant take it out much, as the local ordinance dont allow discharge of airguns... even in my backyard...

Have a AR15 airsoft replica by G&G Armament ... since here in Croatia you dont need the orange tip to differentiate the gun from the real thing ... well it gets hairy sometimes

Since we moved, I have busted out my airguns again. My 30x60 concrete-walled barn is plenty of space for a bit of plinking. I made a frame that holds 6) 4'x4' sheets of 1/2" drywall (left over from various projects) as a backstop to prevent ricochets and set up a pellet trap in front of it.

Also been using my Gamo at work to depopulate the groundhogs. Their babies are born in early spring, so they're big enough to be out and about now. Airguns will dispatch the small ones with a well placed shot if you're inside 100 feet or so. Not fond of taking the young ones, as it sort of goes against everything I've ever been taught as a hunter, but this is pest control, not game hunting. Little ones turn into big ones, which in turn make more little ones, and they're all destructive. The adults are much harder to take down, but I can't just go around blasting off rifles on an open golf course.
