New guy here from Tampa FL.
I'm actually building a golf cart but basically turning it from electric to gas powered. I will make a build thread with pics and could use some help with the build.Using a 6.5 HP gas engine
Thanks

awesome! welcome to the forum.. youll get all the help you need here.

start a thread in the project section and start posting those pics up and we will help you along!

sounds like a cool project. might want to use more than 6.5hp in something golf cart sized though IMO. 13hp would be enough. but id have to see what it looks like first. depends on how fast you wanna go!

Thank you. I will post some pics may take a bit but I have had it running with the factory rear end and the gear ratio was like 9-1 way too much. So I removed the rearend and trying to put another one in. But I will leave it to the build thread! Thanks

my warrior mini bike has 10:1 gearing with a 6.5 clone. 19" atv tires. and it gets up going well with a regular clutch. were you planning on using a centrifugal clutch, belt tensioner, CVT, or something else? 9:1 may be actually an okay ratio with a 6.5hp engine.

use the ratio calc on this website to determine your speed. remember the more speed it says, the less acceleration/towing power you will have. the lower speed, the higher acceleration/towing power.

when i get the CVT into my warrior, it will have a low ratio of about 13:1, and end up at around 4:1 i believe. thats alot of speed but still enough take off to pull you straight up any hill.

ill check that thread when you get it up.

good luck!
