Hi folks, I just came across your forum and thought you might be interested in my very long winded project...started at least 3 years ago, work keeps getting in the way!

I will upload a selection of photo's over the next couple of posts to show how I got to where I am at the moment, enjoy!

I am now down to the bits and bobs to get it finished...But! I am awaiting a hydrodrive to replace the existing 5 speed transaxle so still some major head scratching yet to do.

It was seeing those other builds that decided me to post my one

Why do you want hydro for it?

I want to try a hydro as it will make it a bit more user friendly to drive and to be honest the 5 speed is quite old. I had to shim up one of the shafts to take up a lot of wear (see photo's)

I hate the way you can never seem to find neutral on the 5 speed and the way it takes off in top gear with the occupants nearly thrown out the back!

Nearly there

It has been a while but the jeep is nearly done, over the last months I have fitted out the interior and finished off the metal work. I tried out a bench seat from a land rover but was not happy with the look so I plumped for a couple of old stacking chairs, last week end I did most of the painting, this weekend I had it wired up and running for the first time in 2 years!

I had to stop short of a run out due to a leaky fuel pipe and the fact that I could not find the circlips to hold the wheels on:mad:

Any way more pictures below!

up and running

A little update, I fitted all of the bodywork today and ran up the engine and went through the gears up on axle stands... time to refit the seats so that I can test the brakes.

All finished at last!

I have been working on this for far too long but at last I have finished my mini jeep.

I took it out for its first run this week to test all the mechanicals, it passed with flying colours.
As I was on my own for the test drive here is a self shot video of the happy event.

Drawing PDF's

I have had a couple of requests for drawings for the Jeep, the ones on my, now defunct, website are poor quality so I will attach better quality PDF's below.
.
I will say at the outset that the drawings are not fully dimensioned as I had a lot of the info in my head and never wrote it down.
Some of the drawings have a scale on them that will help work out the missing dimensions.

First ones with this post remainder on next post.

PDF's

Here are the last ones, You will need to do a lot of cross referencing and calculations to get it sorted but good luck to anyone who has a go at the build :)
