I have a 5 hp Tecumseh engine on a cart that has 18" rear tires. The centrifical clutch has 10 teeth and the axle has 54. Now the question i have is this. Why would the clutch get really hot? i assume to much load for the clutch to handle. There was a bad clutch with this cart when i got it so i replaced it with what was there but i am starting to figure i should just get a 30 series for it.

Is there anything i can do to make this work though?
