Chancer i deal more in predator honda not briggs and tecumseh i stay far far away from them they have a tendency to break (leak) just my luck with them lol .I have never seen a l0206 nor a briggs race engine .I can see how its much easier to see the difference when you have one in your lap .As for bobs i have no clue what happened bobs website has been acting up lately .

Nope. Not a matter of having one in my lap, My greyhound and predator are bone stock, still have the governor intact. I have never seen any clone block opened up. My briggs has the tank removed so I could recognize to top of a briggs block by looking at your photo. I also removed to briggs internal governor so I recognized the shape of the block where the side case goes on. having installed clutches on that same side of blocks it was just obvious you had a briggs not any Honda clone or predator. If you are so familiar with Hondas and clones it should have been obvious to you. Like Nick said if you want to make a career out of selling karts and parts, these are the things you need to have an eye for. I imagine you buy and sell on line so you need learn to catch these thing by pics not "having one in your lap"

Well Cameron take it as a lesson learned. I too am an amateur, but Chancer is right. You flip way too much stuff to not be educated enough - to know what you are flipping.

I don't know your current career choices or status at this time, but I know you were looking at some kind of career, but not making the moves before.

So my two cents suggests, you get as well educated as you can that way you can properly inform customers of the goods you are selling them. That will keep them coming back to you and make you a good businessman - if you decided to make a career out of karts. Also if you misinform them they will eventually end up on this site looking for info.

Have to find a job before you go to college or you will be deeply in dept .This is a means to learn a trick of the trade never anything wrong with learning tricks of trade and testing the waters in life .Gives me more exp when i get older my father does the same thing he works as a dominos delivery driver he went to college to get his ASE and fixes cars for 20 here 20 there . My father was never the best at buying and re selling like i am granted there is always a means to improve and always something to learn .After learning i can buy and sell maybe i should go to college for business and take classes on law and criminal minds while im there .

Chancer i was told it was a clone by someone in the L0206 forum if you would like i could ask a mod what happened to the topic .I know im not going crazy it was there just a few days ago but not having one in my lap and someone saying it was a clone with a briggs head made me belive it i guess i'm just gullible .

The first rule of sales is know your product, whatever it may be...

As stated, a B&S intek/animal is 206cc; a Honda/clone is 196cc & a Predator is 212cc, that tells me that a Predator is not a clone but, it is merely based on the Honda architecture; the small changes is how the Predator gets around the copyright laws without being sued by Honda...

So, how do other clone manufacturers get around it? The Honda's & clones are made in the same chinese factory...

As for interchangability of parts between the three: internals, forget it; externals may fit, worst case, with an adaptor

The Animal engine , well, here is a direct quote from Briggs......
"The Briggs Animal was designed in 2005 because of the limit racers reached with the previous Raptor engines. Its design is based off Briggs and Stratton generator engine. It is a single cylinder, 4 cycle ,overhead valve engine built stock at a base of 6.5hp"........ That's directly from Briggs.....
Cam, Briggs parts will only go on Briggs engines. (Ok carbs..... But that's a different story....) A Honda is a Honda, a clone is a copy of the Honda....
Now, predators, ARE " clones" of Honda, BUT......as Tony stated, their internals are different. 212 has a longer stroke. Has a bigger bore.....
As far as clones and Honda gx series engines go, a LOT of the external parts interchange, but you got to read carefully to see if the internal CLONE parts fit. Might fit a gx or 212, and maybe not.
Cam, by now, SURELY you know that a Briggs and a Honda are as similar to each other as a Chevy and a ford...... If not, we need to talk......

Ford and chevy are almost similar they have a few big things in common lol they get you from point A to point B they both have 4 or more tires they both have engines they both use gas lol shall i go on :p my bad its as if i trusted what they said im sorry if i thought it could have been lol never seen a engine that was bare so it could have fooled me its like saying white tigers exist .If i have never seen one and people are saying they exist then im not going to go against the grain .

On another note Jim you have got my back most of the time correct .Well i came across some $$ precision ceramic ball bearings (Engine or Chassis Bearing's) If you need or could use them your free to have them For free
