as anyone ever ued angle steel for go kart frames?

It can be used for a light kart, but it is easy to torque, whereas square and round tube resist torque much better.

Half a square.
I'd stick to tubing if I were you.
You can get 10' of black iron pipe at lowes or home depot for like 12 bucks I think.
Its not better than actual tubing, but my go cart and minibike are built from it, strong enough.
Square tubing is easier to work with, as far as cutting your angles and everything go.
