Now this probably isnt the answer you want, but chop saws can be had pretty cheap, and are very very useful tools. I got mine for $60.

The best would be if there was a program like the tubemiter program with paper!
Thanx for the welcome btw!
I've seen a program for bird mouthing but not for straight cutting
Edit: Until now.
Give these a try:

what size grinder have u got?
and its easier if u put it in a vice so u can have two hands on the grinder
if u use a big enough grinder then u can cut right though in one action rather than working your way arond the outside
i would also reckomend a drop saw
EDIT
what sortta angle are u cutting
ussually its easier to change the plans to use only 45 or 90 cuts

I use the tubemiter program...and it´s awesome!
It´s super accurate!...if you grind it rightHow accurate is the shape?

By the usual size do you mean a 4" grinder or a 8" grinder or a 10" grinder? You said originally that the tube would be welded to flat surfaces so we are talking about straight cuts right? A cut off saw would be best but an angle grinder fitted with a modern thin cutting disk will work.but so will a hack saw. It actually doesn't take very long to cut through mild steel with a hack saw and if you mark it out accurately and cut on the line it is very precise.i use the usual size angle grinder and i can cut with one cut! the angle i have to cut now is 10 degrees and i can make it with with the grinder!... BUT it would be much better with some precision for once:arf:
