Hi,
Thanks for having me...:wai:
I'm currently building an amphibious mini jeep. I've just decided to go with a hydraulic drive. So I'm trying to become an expert in record time :smiley_omg:
I figured that hydraulics work well under water.

Welcome

What type of hydrolic drive are u useing

Hydrolics do work under water
But if u do get a little water inside them it'll stuff up real quick

Also what will power the hydrolic pump

And what's your budget
Go piston pump if u can afford it

Welcome! I am not too sure if the wood would do too well under the water though

you can use hydrualics, but as stated, one drop of water will quickly kill the whole set up. why not just use chain drive? what part of a chain drive set up do you think will fail by going through some water? atvs go through water n mud everyday. ever see mud runners skipping across the mud surface till the lose momentum then sink like a rock.... all chain drive. as long as you take care of your gear, your gear will take care of you......

Assuming your going to fiberglass the body? should hold up.. Lots of people out there making plywood boats sealed with fiberglass.

Chain drive would work, Just keep it oiled up!

Maybe use sealed bearings on the axle? and run the chain/sprockets inside the body?

Or paint....My dad made some crude little jonboats when I was a kid and it was amazing how long they lasted in the elements. .....Years and years. ....
