Well, it's too cold for fiberglassin'...for this year

So, I'ma thinkin' ta maybe try-n-ta-add a ~3" extension
...maybe that will help :cornut:

* Hi...Ducky...I see you :p
SAM_6305 (1).JPG
So, I did some measurin' & markin'
SAM_6306 (1).JPG
Cut 'em off, at the marks
SAM_6307 (1).JPG
Did a quick "mock up"

* Notice I staggered the "cuts"?

So, (1) "cut" wasn't right above another "cut"
SAM_6310 (1).JPG
Yup, that looks ta be ~3" ;)

I cut (4) 3" pieces of pipe (~5/8" ID)
...to use as the "spacers"
SAM_6320 (1).JPG
...& (4) ~5" pieces of 5/8" OD rod
...to use as alignment "pins"
SAM_6321 (1).JPG
Then, simply aligned the ends
...& slid 'em together ;)
SAM_6322 (1).JPG
A ratchet strap helped to "draw" everything together, nice-n-snug

Are you going to make some rosettes?
I hope your not just gonna butt weld that.
😆
Hey WTR,
Um...yea...I was...gonna :innocent:

As this front section isn't really "structural"
...& is "basically" just a foot/leg "box" & front bumper ;)
&
I incorporated "huge" ~5" long, solid pins
...under all of them 3" "splices" :)

But, I'm flexable
...& I guess...I could
...drill some holes
...& add some rosettes...pretty easily
&
I agree your recommendation, would make the structure stronger & more resilient
...so, thanks for taking the time to comment :cheers2:

I was not aware that fiberglassin' was a seasonal activity. Also you don't have to cave to rosette bullying.

Hey Ez,

Well...fiberglassin' is a seasonal activity...if done out of doors (outside)
...& the temps are/drop below ~65*
&
I have been doing all of this fiberglassin' outside in my backyard
...&/now, the current "high" temps, around here, are only ~ 40* :(

* Many of the fiberglassin' videos, that I watched, while doing research, warned about the resin not "settin' up" properly...if at all
...if the material, surface &/or ambient temps were below ~65*

** The resin I'm using even has a "do not use when the temps are below 70* F" warning, in the mixing instructions

It's not "caving"
..."if" it is a good idea
