am i gonna burn up my clutch

im running a stock 212cc predator with the throttle screw all the way out,10in tires, 40 tooth sprocket on the tires and a 10 tooth on the clutch iv so far only ran it about a mile and it flys and i want to know if I'm gonna burn up the clutch

I'd say eventually but not knowing the weight of the kart, it's hard to say...

i have a honda gx160 on my kart with 51t on sprocket and 11 on clutch and 10in racing slicks and it runs fine ,also its a racing kart frame so its light so id say how heavy is your frame

Drive around for a few minutes like you normally would. If clutch is too hot to hold onto, then it's too hot.

the clutch got to hot already with the 60 tooth on it and that one is stock its not a hevy gocart the frame shouldnt be but like 50 pounds I'm like 130

If it got hot with a 60t, what makes you think it would be better with a 40t?

i never said i would make it better i just all was had the clutch get hot so i figured it was just something i cant help

It's gonna get hot no matter what you do. My daughters kart runs at around 13:1 & the clutch still gets hot, friction will do that but, there's different degrees of hot ('scuse the pun); the harder it works, the hotter it'll get; the hotter it get, the quicker it'll die.

it gets hot really hot like i touched it with the 60 tooth on it and it all most burnet me so what should i do the clutch has all was did this so should i run it with the 40 tooth or put the 60 tooth on it even when. see i got this gocart when i was 4 it was my first one and it had a 5hp briggs to start with and i all was rember the clutch being hot when i would touch it when i ran it with no chain gard it had one but as i got older i started to relize i need to oil the chain and clutch and some reason i didn't put it on there we ran the stock clutch from 2001-2010 with may be 1000 hours on it so is it the clutch just being dumb or my gearing or what

all so the clutch i have on it now is not the stock one but it is just a regular max toque one
