Alternator

Hi does anybody know if i could put an alternator on my side shaft 200cc briggs and stratton engine to charge a 12v 14 amp motor cycle battery it is for my two LED flood lights on my manco dingo 285

Any help much appreciated cheers

You could do, but it is easier and cheaper just to charge the battery IMO, and LED's last for ages anyway.
Is your briggs electric start?
If not, you could use something like this:

DC motors can work as an alternator. 150w @ 12v is 12.5 amps. more than enough for your led lights.

Aye i think you are quite right i mean like you say for all the power an LED bulb uses is zilch compared to a normal halogen bulb

Thankyou mate for your help much appreciated but i think that i will just stick to charging it manually because like r chez 08 says its only LEDs which consume next to no power so yeah
