Alternator Help

Okay ive been hearing about people been putting an windmill alternator on the edge of the clultch or something and was wondering if someone and take pic and show me how to do this. Also imma be pushing a radio and 2 6x9 speakers with the battery so im trying to charge that

No diagram needed. The car alternator is a belt drive unit. Mount the unit, mount a drive pulley either off the engine or somewhere else on your driveline and run a belt. It's that simple.

The easiest way of setting up an alternator would be to buy a charge coil and flywheel for your 6.5hp clone. They will set you back $100+ though.

6hp engine but no honda it just a clone



I'd suggest you just power your stereo from a 12-volt battery, and then just use a battery charger when necessary.

When car alternators are charging, they can take 3 or more horsepower from your engine to turn them... So as far as I'm concerned, you'd want to have at least a 10hp engine before installing an alternator on a kart.
