Im doin up a new kart the main thing i want to get going is the suspention kart but its bigger and i need a shifter engine for it and i only have 100 bucks to spend at the moment. Also i need to make a swing arm for it and im thinking i want the axle closer to under my a** so the length from the front wheels to the back is closer for better mudding abilities, but i need some square tubing for the bracket things etc. but anyway the kart started of as a baja blaster and i cut the middle section out and welded the sides together so now its a one seater it had this 100 pound wanabe independent susp deal with the ball joint and sway bar but the setup always broke the ball joint bolt until i put a CAT bolt in rated for like 160lbs but it still wouldnt last with a shifter. and its got rack n pinion so let me know what yall think and suggestions etc

Also my old yard cart im wonderin if i should just put it together and sell it or put the 6.5 with tav and ad rear suspention and mini boggers, do yall think it would mudd better then the full suspention

well about me im 16 i a redneck my pops works for ringpower/cat and im very mechanically inclined i just love to build stuff

ill get better pics soon

thanks

this is kinda what im goin for but the engine will have to be behind the axle so ittle give alot of rear weight but i think a winch and battery up front might fix that, and for now do yall think a 6.5 and
tav would push this thing

Looks like you're off to a decent start- I did a double-take at the pics with the firewood! Were you using your kart to store/ transport your firewood, or were you that close to setting fire to it!!?!?!

Wow! A WOODIE WAGON!!! LOL
Keep building! Cheers- Chris

also are 1 inch axles strong enough for like up to 350cc shifter offroad?

It depends on what kind of steel, how much the kart weighs, how far outboard of the bearings are the wheels, and how far inboard/outboard of the bearings is the sprocket.

Strongest would be a high tensile axle, bearings right at where the wheels are, and a bearing next to the sprocket. If you had all that then 1" should be plenty.

update

alright i need some help, im pretty much done with the swing arm but how the engine is going to be, i think the chain will be long and interfere with stuff and the 72tooth sprocket will be in that tight space

also i will need a new tav belt i dont know if its an actual comet 30 but i think it is the belt is asymetrical and the dimentions are about 4.75" diameter of driver 6.5" dia of driven and 6.75" between the middles so if i could know what belt to get and where cause i dont know much about them

i did the first little test drive today with the old belt. it rides good but doesnt drive good cause of the rear weight but when i leaned forward it steered:ack2:
