This is a thread devoted to "organized grime", how we all deal with keeping our accumulated junk under control.
I tried several times to load some pictures for this, hopefully I'll be able to post some later.
In the meantime how do you organize your stuff?

Unfortunately, I don't control my "junk" (as my brother describes it) it controls me... I have a workspace big enough to hold 2 cars, a 12' boat & a box trailer but, right now, there's barely enought room to walk through it

If this worked-you should be looking at my collection of Plano type lure boxes.Organizing all my small nuts, bolts, and other junk this way has saved me hundreds of dollars over the years.
It's not the cost of the items but that I saved time hunting them down and running to the store to buy them.
I did this during the middle of winter.
Ben Franklin said that the older we get the more we need to comportamentalize, (at least I think it was him-could have been Tim Taylor).

Well, I clean once every 3 years..

Then a month later after cleaning, It looks like it did before I cleaned it..

but I don't got as much stuff as some of the folks on here... Not yet.....

I will admit, I have a huge problem keeping screws/nuts/washers off things.. Like If I'm throwing something out. I take off all the screws and nuts and washers before I toss it.. then they just pile up in soup cans and boxes... Need a way to organize them by size and stuff, but that's a lot of work!

Yes it is a lot of work (kinda), the point being it pays off in the long run. Of course I'm not sure you could get this done in the 2 days a year your temperature drops below 50° f, but for the rest of us, we have days that aren't fit for man nor beast outside, and this can be done inside while watching mindless TV shows.
Another thing to keep in mind is that I am one of the older members, your pile of junk will get bigger and your memory smaller as the years go by.

I used to be a parts hoarder.. Speakers, light sockets, switches, you name it.. I threw out like 30 garbage bags and never looked back. There are a few instances where I was like "Crap! I should have kept that!".

Yep-kept a garbage disposal for about 15 years, threw it out 6 months ago. Now mine is shot.Never fails.
You would be surprised how much I use the stuff in those boxes. The contents of some have quite a turnover.
The more common small machine screws are gone for the most part, but at least before I lose half an hour and use $3 worth of gas to get 50 cents worth of screws, I know I won't find them lying around the next day.
And then there are things that I have had for 20 years and then used them but never would have been able to find had it not been for the boxes.
I wouldn't have so many if they weren't so handy.Of course not many people are into as many things as I am so probably wouldn't use or need them like I do.

Dude how the hell do you work with a clean floor. I mean this aint no kitchen, you relise the dirt helps keep traction on the ground. A smooth floor is likely to kill someone in short order.......

Don't worry-his garage floor probably isn't that clean in his dreams. Meanwhile he probably can't answer because he's downtown trying to explain what he was doing in front of his neatnick neighbors garage taking pictures.

Id like to think that if I ever had a garage to work in, it would be semi clean... not very cluttered... Not going to happen I think. I think it would be nice to have a work bench that is easily accessible any day, any time... slim chance.

When I was in the US (many years ago), I bought one of those plastic wall plaques that read

"A clean desk is a sure sign of a sick mind"​
