I am looking to upgrade my air filter on the predator 212. However, without the airbox, I'm concerned about water, mud and snow. Thoughts on how to increase airflow while still being able to go through these elements?

A lot of go kart racers put pre-filters on their filters when it rains. There are ones that are good for dusty conditions too to extend the time between cleanings of your filter.

Also, please make sure you oil your performance filter. A lot of people think they are good out of the box, but if you dont oil them before you use them, they just let in a bunch of dirt. The oil i used i got from K&N (ebay) with the cleaner too, both in a spray bottle...So

1) oil filter before use
2) install a filter wrap (K&N and outerwears are good brands) if you are going going to be in dusty or wet conditions.

Buy an outerwear. Its what all the dirt, mud, and sand racers use.
