RUN AWAY!!!

No, I'm kidding...

Being a parent is one of the hardest yet most rewarding things you will ever do; it's a lifetime commitment that takes a LOT of patience... & there's the key word, PATIENCE...

If you have a short temper (& I'm not saying you do), you need to curb it NOW! Believe me, a bad temper & kids don't mix...

On the other hand, even if your rather level headed, a screaming infant can try the patience of a saint & the child will pick up on hostility, even if it's not outwardly displayed...

Congrats & good luck...

Happy Fathers Day. Congratulations. The very best Advice I can give you is this:
Figure out one way or another to BE THERE every day of this childs childhood. The best thing for kids these days is a loving 2 parent home. Money is NOT that important, My boy had more fun with the box the toys came in than he did the toys! Till he was 7! My girls need my example as a man to know and see how they should be treated respectfully by future boyfriends. By seeing how I treat their Mom.

I feel that i should tell you that you should have been more careful than what you were. Now that the horse has bolted though, you are going to have to grow up really fast and be the good father everyone has spoken about

Cam....
Teach a child through example too.
I was very rough around the edges from 17-24. You name it, I probably did it. I am lucky to be alive and not dead or in jail, ( well never longer than a month - hehe).

Regardless I grew up and you must too. The year my daughter was born I got my G.E.D at age 24. I have a wife who empowered me ( just as you and your girl must do for one another).
I then went on a did several community colleges all while working 1-3 jobs. I have had a degree for several years now and at the age of 34 my (1st born out of three) daughter sees me ( and her mother-of course ) as a strong, smart, and hardworking person.

Knowledge is key to success in all aspects of life. Being a father means you are the primary factor, in helping to create a world of good people for the future.

Please Cam get back in school......It will feel great and make you wonder why you ever stopped. Not trying to be a D-head, but start with an English class. Proper grammar and presentation is a first impression.

Good luck.....

You'll fall in love the second you see him/her. Remember patience and lots of it. Kids will get into things, break things, and generally push your buttons. Remember this though: material things can be replaced. Their love and respect for you though can't. If you have to be firm, then be firm, just not mean. There's been plenty of times I've wanted to strangle my buggers, I won't lie, but there has been a million more times where just sitting with them has brought more joy than anything I've ever known.

Cherish it, every second. Good and the bad, cherish it all and teach them how to respect and love.

You don't get the time away from them back, so cherish every second.

It'll make you into a man (not saying you're not one already) it'll put life into perspective and make you into a greater man if you do it right. Nothing ever comes before your kids, and yes you'll have to bust your bottom to support them, and you should, it's well worth it.

Congrats my friend, it really is heaven when you see your child smile, or when you just spend a day playing with toys with them, or watching cartoons.

If it wasn't for my kids I would be in prison. Seeing my son for the first time put my whole life into perspective, and changed me in ways you couldn't imagine, but always for the best. I would break my back just to make sure my kids had what they needed, and wanted sometimes.

I think my father took that turn because he was scared .I cant blame him people have made money into more then what it actually is its only a staple in this world .I will punish my child but never beat them my parents never beat me but they put me on a dead cockroach in the corner the invisible chair ect they spanked me with a leather strip called the whacker. But they never beat me and i was a horrible kid believe me if it was not for my father i would be in prison .So i understand i have been told ill grow up like my parents and that its inevitable that its going to happen but i do not want to all be like them i was to take things i like that they do and throw away the things i dis like about how they raised me .

Sorry to hear that. Have been through it twice myself. Second time was like you guys just 6 weeks. The first was tougher 4 or 5 months, that was tough, would have been the first kid too.
Now I know we don't talk about religion here but ...too bad. I personally believe someday when I get to Heaven I will meet both of these children. Please know and tell your girl my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time
