using a motorbike engine in a kart is harder to do than putting in a small engine, say off a chipper or cement mixer.

its different for every engine and all depends on what kind of kart youre building.

buggy? yard kart? street/race kart? etc?

you need to make more complex engine mounts (small engines bolts on the bottom) and make shifter linkages, fuel pump, throttle cable, clutch cable....

small engines have alot less power to weight ratio than a motorbike engine.

What speed/bhp would you get from a cement mixer or chpper? Is their any videos of one being made on here?

Or a step by step detailed progression of kart building. I having a look now but if their is any that i might not have been that would be good, id like to see.

Something like this maybe?

or

Also can you by kit karts like you can with cars to put together, Id like to practice on one of them maybe.

Sorry for questions, trying to get grasp of it.

most of the builds on here are useing industrial engines and acheive speeds of 5 to 50 mph

a motorbike powered kart or buggy achieves speeds between 10 and 160 mph

the kart above would usually be powered by a 13hp industial engine or a 250 motorbike snow mobil engine

u can buy karts in kit form or just buy a rolling chassis which includes everything exept engine
