It looks like a DIY job. I'll show you. What is the thing called the rod is threaded into?

I don't seem to see it with the tie rod accessories?

You should have something like, a rack, connected to a tie rod, attached to a steering arm, mounted on a knuckle (spindle in go kart).

Idk how these are supposed to go?

Screw a male 3/8" tie rod end in that threaded hole?
Then that thing, connected with a bolt, then threaded Rod, then female tie Rod end?

I'll get some new threaded Rod too.

These were 12".

I don't see why the bends. Probably just from abuse. Unless he figured out some angle issue that I don't see.

Bob do not use threaded rod. Well you can, but it will break and bend again.
Shop around and find the proper "tie rods" for your Karts make and model.

They make graded threaded rod, as I mentioned earlier. I carry some with me in my truck at all times in case I need a "Bolt" far from home.

I just know Desertduler told me every thread on there is just a perforation like T.P. waiting to brake.
So definitely a solution and beats walking while the cops laugh at you. But long term and especially on this heavy suspension Kart not a long term fix.

A piece of, for instance, 3/8 threaded rod in Grade 8. Has the exact same strength porperties, tensile, torsional, moment of inertia as a Grade 8 3/8 bolt lol.

The only real downside is you have to unhook one side to adjust toe.

oh no you dident!

OH MAN!:surrender: I did.
Anyway
Yes 3/8 grade 8 all thread is as strong as a bolt. It is great to carry some threaded rod with you. in case you break a bolt.
But a tie rod is not a bolt.
And I will give you this, I have 5 Karts and the 3 I built use threaded rod for tie rods! But they are yard Karts not buggies and 1 of them the tie rods are 4" long.

I wouldn't use it at all myself, simply because it's more expensive lol.

It would be cheaper, stronger, and easier to adjust if you used steel tube with rod ends on each end.

The stuff Bob has, is obviously not graded anyway.
