They just let them do it here in Grand Rapids where I work. I've always wondered how they decide who get's the corner.

And, one block from the freeway exit is my shop, that can't keep people in here, starting them out at 14/hr, for entry level, unskilled work.

A mutual friend that I work with told me at least one of the blows came from a selfie stick. I guess her roommate had a contracted selfie stick laying around and that is what she was hitting me with. Might be BS, but now I really have a reason to think selfie sticks are the dumbest things on planet?

Me too...I forgot to read the instructions.

Just so we are on the same page, the pictures of the pipe also have the gasket on it.
I'm not sure if the pictures are clear enough. I hope you don't think that line going around the whole thing wasn't filled.

This thread talks a little about how a smaller intake manifold opening (compared to port entry) may be a good thing.

Minimize intake charge reversion.
Stronger intake charge.
Better throttle response.

Too big of a lip is bad and will mess up flow.
Possibly loosing some upper RPM power, for better low end torque and throttle response by not porting the adapter

Manifold Kit, 390 Carb to GX200, 6.5 Chinese OHV, & 212 Predator, 2 pc Adjustable (0/15)
Part #: NR-CC390B
Our Price: $27.99

Stock Status: In Stock
Description
Designed to mount GX390 Type Carbs to GX200, 6.5s, and 212 Predators.
2 pc Design can be used on both flat and 15 degree mounts.

Typically requires a 108 Main Jet for std bore Gas GX390 carbs and 110 for Gas Bored Carbs. Methanol carbs will need a 150 to 160 Main or larger.

Pulse Fitting can be installed for operating fuel pumps, otherwise plug can be used to seal opening. NOTE: PULSE FITTING FACES UP Note: On some Long Duration (radical) cams, the intake vacuum signal is too weak to operate the fuel pump, esp when using methanol. In this case, you will need to pulse from the valve cover or block.

Instructions: Mount the 15 degree adapter (the thicker one) to Engine. Mount Flat Plate adapter to the 15 degree adapter. Use a small amount of gasket sealer between the two. Install the carb studs in appropriate holes, mount carb using enclosed gasket, and go racing.

Was looking if I needed a second gasket between the two parts of the zero degree adapter. It says use some gasket sealer.

Maybe with a double gasket, I won't have to worry about the valve cover hitting the adapter??

I forgot....
The fact that I was screwing the carb stud passed the adapter, into the head might have had something to do with my intake leak last time.

I'll spare the bad pic where you can't really see..

Going to try to get the head on, the exhaust on, the carb and air filter, the rockers, and set the lash before work.

I give up! I don't have the strength!
Seriously WTF!!!!

You know what hurts worse than a break up or a selfie stick to the face???

A SNAPPED HEAD BOLT!!!!

Cleaned the threads, lubed with motor oil, hand tightened, then used a torque wrench.

5 ft lbs
10 ft lbs
12.5 ft lbs
15 ft lbs
16 ft lbs
17 ft lbs one first one
17 ft lbs on second one
17 ft lbs on..... SNAP

I tried to make sure this didn't happen??? Garbage HF Torque wrench???

Anybody want to come over and kick me in the balls? Or give me a puppy then shoot it?

---------- Post added at 04:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:24 PM ----------

Maybe the milled head and thinner gasket needed washers with the stock bolts???

Well...if there's any bright side to this....it's that bolts snapped being tightened usually come out very easily.

Btw: It snapped because your head was milled.

I should have thought about the milled head. It never crossed my mind til after the fact.

Well I have an easy out set that I need to learn how to use!
Nothing can ever be easy! I seem to make certain of that!
