That’s a great idea and it brings to mind the older lawn tractors (and other equipment) that used a belt driven alternator/generator that ran off a pulley mounted to the flywheel. Problem is, those may have been electric start only
That was a starter/generator. Golf carts use them also. Mine has the pulley attached to the torque converter, that might be easier than putting a pulley on the flywheel, and keeps the rope start.

Ah yes, as seen here in a recent thread involving a home made go kart revival with a really old cast iron Wisconsin engine (or something) and in a fairly recent Mustie1 video (the Harley Davidson golf cart). Anyone remember that thread? The kart was quite the Mad Max II machine… but I digress.
