Adding a battery to a mini bike

Hello all, it's been a while since i've posted anything and I hope this post is allowed since its not gokart related.

So I just got a trailmaster mb200 a few days ago and man I love it! I want to add a battery to the system to keep the headlight on all the time. I already have a small motorcycle battery and i'm in the process of making a holddown tray for it. I just don't know what (wires) to tap into on the bike to achieve my goal.

You would have to determine if the engine on the bike has charge coils built into it, otherwise all you can do is mount a battery and charge it up periodically after use. I installed one of these engines on a kart, it has the charge coil or coils built in that charge the battery while it's running. I ran an 18 gauge fused wire to the battery from a lighted headlight switch mounted on the steering column.

I'm 100% positive this bike has charging coils since the headlight gets bright when riding but goes dim when idling

Get a 12 volt test light and see if you can determine which wire is putting out 12 volts from the engine. I used my wire strippers to remove a 1/4" of insulation from the 12 volt hot wire running to the coil then connected my kill switch to that wire & taped it up. Try something similar with your setup.

Is it possible for me to upgrade flywheels and keep the charging system? I don't know much about the PVL flywheel and I dont know of any other flywheels that I can use

From what I've read, changing flywheels can be a nightmare with different shaft tapers and key slots. I wouldn't recommend it myself. Get an engine with the correct flywheel and charge coils to avoid headaches.

Getting another motor is out of my budget range, I dont know what to get either. Does nobody make a flywheel that is safer than a stock 196cc clone flywheel and won't fly apart above 5,500 rpms?

just get a 7.2 amp hr battery and a cheap harbor freight charger. then get a billet flywheel.

I already have a 4 amp hour AGM battery. Is a billet flywheel the only option for my 196cc clone? If so, I might consider getting a Tilly 212 electric start but I dont think there are aftermarket charging flywheels for that motor either

I think i'll start saving for the Tilly 212. GPS website says the flywheel is rated for 10,000 rpms but its not aluminum

Do I need a voltage regulator if i'm running my charging coil wires to a battery to keep it charged?

What do I have to do to wire up a taillight/brake light? The brake lever has a switch on it but I have no idea how to run wires for it
