Found this site during a google search, there are a lot of good ideas and information so I figured I would join and take part in this wealth of ideas.

I recently graduated college(May 2009), Mechanical Engineering Technology(BS). I am know working as an engineer for an industrial energy systems supplier(compressors, turbines, etc).

I race go karts on asphalt for 12 years growing up, then got into snowmobiles. I have about 8 vintage snowmobiles, mostly race sleds or high performance trail sleds. I also collect the newer race sleds as well.

For my senior design project I built a shopping kart, its the picture of my avatar. The reason I found this site was I'm looking for a split axle for this thing to help it steer a little better and googled looking for one.

Look forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks!

Hey Adam, cool kart.
I'm not sure what a split axle is but I was just sitting here thinking of the possibility of cutting a live axle and re-connecting it with a 1-way bearing to act as a diff... If it worked I'm thinking you'd end up with both wheels driving under power plus the ability of uncoupling one side while turning, kinda like a positrack. Mmmm
