Have downloaded 3 different free GPS to my phone trying to find one to match my van's analog speedometer, all only read about 80-85% of what the speedometer reads.
But they're accurate, it's the van speedo that's whacky, here's something you can check.................
Van has an ELECTRONIC readout of fuel range remaining, fuel used, map direction, etc., and AVERAGE SPEED since last reset.
Got the speedo stabilized dead on 65 mph. on the highway yesterday with GPS reading only 53 mph., and reset the average speed readout.
Obviously it started averaging at the speed I was going steady at, and lo and behold, it dead on matched the GPS!
Most modern vehicles have that readout setup, mine's a 1999, so if you doubt your GPS compared to your vehicle, try that.
