Salve amici miei...

As you might have noticed (or not) I'm a bit less active around here than I was a few months ago.
And the tone has changed a bit too..
so I think you deserve a tiny bit of explanation ..

I'm in a darker place than usual,
literally due to the season and personally due to things that are none of your business and thus not to be discussed here.

The point is, that affects the length of the string you'd call patience.

I try my best to stay away of all those qustions we answered a million times and Noob is just to lazy to search or expects a different answer since he's - IDK "New" I guess..

So gearing.. look it up dammit...
no please help whereever and whenever you can, that's why we're here that's what this site is made for.

same thing or the all popular "ID & parts" stuff...
always the same answer: none of the manufacturers exist anymore if it's an US Fun-Kart and all parts are either generic or no longer available other than on maybe ebay CL etc.
heard that before, said that before... right now... I don't give a flying shirt.
YOU however.. please do if you care enough to help -as above-.

I also try to stay out of your chitchat for as long as I can
but you really make it difficult at times..
I see several dozens of you running around and doing nothing but chatting.
That's mostly fine with Robert and thus it is perfectly legit of course..
But nearly all of you COULD provide valid, and more important: VALUABLE information to all the questions out there ...
instead you opted to just have some unrelated off topic fun Friggin everywhere...

And that.. right now... where I am... really P's me off.
Again, my problem not yours.
I just wanted to leave that here so that you at least know WHY.

I'm not calling you out, but if you're here for more than a month or two and you read this thread up to this poiont,
it's not unlikely that YOU are one of the users I meant.
I'm sure you are aware if you are or not, right?

And now this is where the SUGGESTION comes in...

Now, I try me best to NOT step on your toes,
but it'd be nice if you could take care of some more "helping others"
around here though.

That'd also prevent me from correcting people when they post BS..
if you do, I do not have to...
if you're kinder.. I don't have to ask for a kindergarten ... right?

This too shall pass. Sometimes not as quickly as we'd like, but a day will come when you realize you're out of your funk, and wonder the what the Fund that was all about.

Just remember the wise famous words from Chancer:
"It'll be fine."

Yes, I have noticed. I've asked myself a few times recently, wheres Sid?

Actually, I've kinda missed our almost daily conversations since El Dingo is (mostly) done.

Dark seasons get me down too.

Seasons change, springs coming.

Don't let stuff or people get to you.

I deal with the public/customers daily (a lot of dipsticks)

I hear on a daily basis "I need my car towed".

I ask: "where is your car located"?

answer: (almost every time) "in my driveway"

Over & over & over. Really! :ack2:

Like the soldering iron, sometimes you just gotta "let it go". :cornut:

Always remember: You, my friend, bring a lot to the forum! :2guns:

I don't think I could read 10 gear ratio questions if I didn't get to read a story about a chicken plucker.

1. My engine won't start.
2. How should I gear my kart.
3. Looking for performance parts.
4. Trying to pluck a chicken.

I'll read all 4, but only look forward to #3 and #4.

If you think it might help, I could post a pic of Mr Hasselhoff with no shirt.

I enjoy The Chit chat as much as Helping.
I think the Same old Questions over and over also help us to learn, But that's cause I've been here a while. Simple Repetition can have a powerful effect on learning.
And without the Chit chat, YES it would get boring.

Thanks for letting us know you are Preoccupied. I must admit sometimes if I am not sure I will give an answer saying "I think", knowing that you will be around shortly with the real facts.

But Yes "It'll be fine" ;)
and That is NOT my line I stole it From Isaac at "Cars and Cameras"

I also wondered where the great sid responses have been. I would like to contribute help and sometimes i do. But im new to karting and can only give from my experience, which is limited.

We do tend to chit chat alot. I easly get distracted and pulled in to crazy chat.

Hope you pull through your dreary days. We can all try to pull our own wieght.

I appreciate your words, it'll be fine eventually for sure;

Joe, since we started on the wrong foot, that really means a lot;
thank you (since I can only tick that box once of course ;))

Kevin, you don't need any more help it appears, not with electric motors at least.
But I have an eye on "Hero" just in case.. I'll be there.

Bob, yeah ...no I don't think Dave's chest is going to distract me.. Pam would have a better chance tbh.. but please don't.. rules and such ;)

Eric, that's exactly how I 'hear' it indeed... funny how a yt-channel can affect your perception ;)
And as boring as it is, repetition is indeed the best way to hardwire information to you brain.

Corey, just provide the info you think you have, you might be incorrect at times and that's perfectly okay, as long as everyone's participating (as I am used to) the "hive mind" will settle on the correct [or commonly accepted] answer eventually.
And that's all we can ask for ;)

Thanks for your word guys, honsestly..
THANK YOU!

My point though was indeed to take care of the problems,
no matter how repetitive and dull they are.
We all come here because we want some distraction [more or less..]
but some really need help with an issue they're having that's indeed go kart or mini bike related.
And I think not only they deserve to be helped (maybe even by pointing them to a pre-existing thread for example),
but this forum deserves to still be the shining light of lighthearted wisdom it was when I joined.

I like to fool around as much as the next guy (at least usually ;))
but seeing every other thread rushing into off topic without answering the initial question..
IDK.
(again, this might be a tainted interpretation because of my current mood... I can't tell tbh)

So apart from forgiving me my lack of humor (as if germans ever had any...)
I really ask you to provide as much of your knowledge as you can,
since that's been the best part of this forum as far as I'm concerned..
People trying their best to solve other people's go kart problems.

So again, thank you...
and please take care of each other

IMO, the biggest issue with repetition is when someone actually tries to do the right thing by searching, only to be bombarded with a gazillion threads on the same subject; that can be daunting & frustrating for a noob...

Alex, it seems this is not a great time for any of us mods; I hope your issues resolve themselves quickly...

Life ain't fair, and the world is mean.
Change what you can and don't worry about what you can't.

I'm with these guys on the chit chat. It makes it easier to resolve differences when we know one another a little better, and I consider that a valid point since it's usually the same guys giving the same advice over and over and opinions can differ.

What could possibly go wrong if we let the inmates run this place? It'll be fine, it's for testing purposes only!

Umm, we're ok, thanks Eric :worried2:

Talk about the inmates running the asylum...

:D:D:D
No thanks :worried2:

So as Tony said, us mods are not having a good time of it. Not to detract from Alex's thread, but maybe i should let you guys know why i haven't been around much either. Or at least not posting that much.

My father has been ill for a couple of months, and 2 weeks ago he passed away. With all this happening, i just have not had the motivation to read go kart related stuff and answer all these repetitive questions from noobs that we have been talking about here.

I also want to see this forum stay like it was when i first joined 6 years ago. I have also noticed that it had been slowly sliding downhill.

So please bear with me at the moment. I will still be around checking up on you guys, but maybe just not posting as much

...
yupp.. germany... really ;)

But I doubt I could give you any advice about where to go in Munich tbh..
last time I've been there is well over twenty years ago,
and I spent two days in the german museum (Deutsches Museum)
Sorry.. Nerdy as it can get. I love that place!

Only other thing we did.. going into the smaller bars and sat with the locals... it was great, but we were young back then and we felt warm and welcome (unlike the Hofbräuhaus where everybody that's not coming on a daily basis is basically just a stupid tourist and will be treated that way)
been there too of course.. but wouldn't need to see that again.

Nate, Yeah I'd wish I could ignore or even tolerate some of the things I cannot change :(
But we'll see, I hope they'll solve themselves eventually (what else is left :()
And I'm totally with you.. the better we know each other
the lesser chance we have to run into problems with each other over a certain topic or because of a difference.
That's all fine and welcome and really helps to to keep it lighthearted around here..
but then again...I got the impression we lost track of this forum's intention at times.
*shrugs*

Paul, my sincerest condolences.. I'm sorry about your loss.

See, now I even feel bad about starting this thread for not being in too good of a mood recently...:(
