Thought you guys would get a kick out of these pics. Went to a local junkyard I hadn't been to yet, and saw a ton of cool stuff. Almost all old iron instead of the newer stuff at my regular 'yard. Could see potential projects left and right. It is always sad to see this stuff sitting, BUT this junkyard is always open, and everything is for sale. I asked about pre-40's pickup cabs, and the guy told me $500 and up, with titles. :arf:

A whole bunch of 1.5ton and higher trucks, backhalfed to save space?

Looking towards the very back (the goldmine)

Trying to post it on KillBillet, still waiting for a mod to activate my account.

In case anyone is local and interested, the place is called Martin's (sign out front says Hwy 34 Auto)-just between Loveland and Greeley CO along highway 34.

8405 US Highway 34
Windsor, CO 80550-3513

I love that old rusty Iron. What part of Colorado you from ? I live in Montrose.

Greeley/Windsor area

once you derust and paint them....

Sacrilege!

Oh, MAN! I swear to you I would've lost it in there! You'd find my bawling my eyes out and lying in the fetal position...

On the plus side- and this is a big plus- they haven't crushed 'em yet!

So jealous! The only cars at my local tip (that's what Australians call junkyards) are Mitsubishi Sigmas and WB Holden utes. **** I wish I lived were you do. Restoring cars is my life, I would hot rod them but I haven't really come across anything with that kind of potential for a decent price. There's certainly potential in the cars there!

That place is my idea of heaven.

I can link this to the H.A.M.B if you want?

Thanks

Hayden

You have no idea. I've only really gotten to look around there once, and every direction I turn I see something I want to build. I could live there just putting parts together and building cars constantly.

Ya sure, go ahead. I'm sure they would like to see it.

Around here-mostly dead mice and their various nests and droppings. They tend to eat or shred any other 'items' left in the car. :ack2:
That is the one big problem with all the cars in this particular 'yard-the interior has been redistributed into the dash and glovebox in tiny pieces, in almost all of them.

I would definately where puncture-resistant gloves... its better to not get sliced with a sharp piece of rusty metal, or get stuck with a used syringe... than to save yourself $20....

I would also be concerned with any... byproducts.... that might have been introduced to the seat... Think of everyone's favorite part of HS Gym class.... lol...

Like I said, all the seats in the older cars are gone except the steel. You can either re-cover them, or go downtown to the U-Pull-it and get some from a newer car for $25. You're gonna clean 'em no matter what, and it's not like you're going to be eating off them intentionally either...
