Yepp the pictures will load as soon as you choose to open a thread
(well, technically you can prevent images to be loaded, but noone's ever used that feature really)

if you don't abort (or close the thread before the images are loaded) they will get pulled off the internetz and right onto your viewing device...

I've found a few browser add-ons that allow text only mode. Chrome has some, so does Fireforx, IDK what you're using.

Alex, when it comes to computers, I flat out envy your skills..... The only defence I have in the argument is that I'm the shop tool maker.... Apparently using just mechanical equipment to do my job is approaching a lost art.....

considering flutecounts, cutting depths and speeds...
are basically the years I spent writing internetrelated software and tweaking searchresponses,
considering databaselayouts, searchterms and typos...

it's as boring as the next thing, nothing you cannot learn to use within a day or two.
Just like I can more or less easily RUN a cutting job using the preconfigured cutter and toolpath you made. Maybe I need a hand setting up the workpiece at first
And by no means it's a lost art...
I need to learn more about that very art (I suck at creating ideal toolpaths as you might remember) lack of experience... *shrugs* ah well.
With all the 3d printers popping up that skill will be more and more important over the next few years.. I can guarantee. (for MAKING software not for using it... )

And in this case, I only have a bit more background knowledge.. since I never was involved (likely never will be) in any google software (or algorithm)
I'm a "user" just like you .. I only happen to use it more often and learned a few tricks on the way.
