I purchased an old redcat mpx 90 quad dirt cheap and had the idea of pulling the 90cc and upgrading to a lifan clone 125cc 4 stroke with electric start. The existing harness was pretty weathered and hacked up from previous owners, so I decided to go with an inexpensive harness on eBay. The install seemed pretty cut and dry, for the most part it was a plug n play install. I connected an Atv 3amp battery to it while it was still partially roughed it and of course with my luck, it didn’t crank over. The harness came equipped with a key enable as well as a few safeties, and I ensured all safeties were enabled or at least bypassed. The starter relay doesn’t even click over when I engage to the start button. The harness was listed to be compatible with engines from 50cc to 125cc. I haven’t yet tested anything out with a meter yet, but I jumped power at the starter relay to bump the starter. Below are a few photos of the harness I purchased and the rough install. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a crap harness? Worst case scenario I can clean up the old harness or simply build one myself using the components in the kit. I just figured getting a harness kit would’ve save me time and less aggravation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: I had the time to really break down the harness and test points on plug connectors and solder joints. BUYER BEWARE: for $25 you’ll have all the components you’ll need for a small engine from 50cc to 125cc, however, you certainly get what you pay for. I was naive to think the harness would be plug and play, the culprit ended up being push start on the switch control. Instead of being wired to power, it had been spliced to the break light ground. All the splice points were questionable, so I cleaned them up, soldered and used shrink tube to weather seal. Works great now.

Sorry no one was able to help you first, but sometimes just coming here and posting something helps you figure it out. Glad you got it working and all is good. I hate electrical on these things. I prefer to just do it myself and wire up what I need and getting rid of all the crap you don't need, especially those damn anti fun sensors that prevent it from starting.
