Well boys, I can't express my gratitude enough for all of the help I've received over the past couple weeks.

In summary - my knowledge of engines and such things was pretty much - you put gas in and turn the key or pull the cord.

So, of course the smart thing to do was to buy a kart that didn't run. I mean, I did watch a YouTube video, so that makes me a mechanic right?

Anyway, with your help I cleaned the carburetor, twice, fixed the brakes, took apart the torque converter and cleaned it up, replaced the belt, replaced a spindle that bent because the brakes didn't work early on. I did all of this with my 13 yr old son who is now more knowledgeable and interested in mechanical things.

The lawn, nor the neighbors, will ever be the same. The look on his face as he drives has been priceless - especially when we was on two wheels at a 45 degree angle. Fortunately he didn't roll, but the look of terror/exhilaration was pretty cool.

Here's the kart and boy in action!

No matter who you are or what you know, we never stop learning... or teaching... ;)
