A few Questions about My Go Kart

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this Forum.

So I have a few questions....

1. I was WAY too lazy to make a go kart from scratch, so I bought a used one instead. It came with a 5.5hp Honda engine which leaks a bit, so I bought a new engine. Cost Of Used Go Kart was $350. Is that a good deal? Came with everything, disc brakes, tires, frame, seat, clutch, axle, chain and other stuff I forgot to say.

2. The new engine is 6.5hp for $180 plus tax. The honda ones are about $400 - $500. What is the difference?

3. What would be the max speed (about) of the go kart. I dont know the teeth numbers but Im guessing the clutch has 10 and the axle 60.

You can drive it wherever you'd like. Except on sports fields. Because its an immature thing to do.

1. $350 might have been be a great deal or way overpriced. We'd need to see some pics to be able to tell if its just some older low-cost/entry-level fun kart, or maybe a newer race kart model that had originally cost several thousand dollars.

2. The engine you bought cost so much less because its a Chinese manufactured copy of a Honda GX200. They're commonly referred to as clone engines.

3. Assuming your rear tires are 11" tall, and your engines governor is still all hooked up limiting its RPM to 3600... Your kart would top out around 20mph with a 10/60 gearing combination.

What leaked from the old engine? Oil or fuel? Both of those could be fixed for less then $10 using Honda gaskets...

The only difference between your engine and a genuine Honda is the quality.

Im not exactly sure, it looks kinda like a mix of fuel and oil
