Lucked out on the weather. I purchased advanced tickets and that morning it looked like it was going to be a non refundable washout.

I live about a mile away, was my parents place, and where I grew up (in theory).

Back in the 70's and 80's the jet cars used to rattle the windows. Since moving back to the old house a few years ago I've noticed how relatively quiet the dragstrip is now. In some ways I miss the BOOM.. BOOM... house shaking awesomeness.

Still way cool being there. Nice aluminum bleachers have replaced the splintery old wood ones. The facility was upgraded years ago.

I still have fond memories of "Back in the Day"
