On a pulley that takes an A or B belt.....which belt really works better. The 1/2" A belt that sits down in from the top of the pulley....or the 5/8" B belt that sits flush with the upper edge of the pulley.
Which belt grabs the pulley the best?
Thanks.

The B series belt is what you need. A properly installed V belt sits flush with the top edges of the pully (+/- 1/64"). If the pully set has several thousand hours on it, the belt will fall into the groove; if that's the case you might want to replace the pullys, but that might be a separate issue.

The most important part is to be sure that the belts small bottom edge doesn't make contact with the bottom of the pully groove. Power is only designed to be transmitted by the two V faces of the belt.....
