While bike engines are sick on go karts. It just takes too much fabrication and configuration for most people when compared to replacing the motor with one that often bolts right in place and only requires a kill switch and throttle cable that is already there to get you going.

ok Well im going to get some pics of it all together. maybe the old ohv motor will be worth a dam. the briggs 8 threw the rod at some point in its life and gashed the hell outa the cylinder it was a give to thing should have known it was gunna be crapola

has a 68 stamped on the head. i dunno why i thought it didnt have a pipe. i never really looked at it to much till today.

I see your point, but it's not difficult at all to make the bike mounts, in fact you can even just weld on the whole bike cradle which has the mounts already on it if you're lazy. Throttle cable is easier than an industrial engine since it is already set up for one, clutch cable is the same, and the shifter is a simple lever.
I'd say mounting a bike engine to a kart is no more difficult than putting on a jackshaft.

i have a dingo XE i think its called . so with a dirt-bike motor would it be best to run No TC.&js.? Or should i keep the TC... also will i have to up grade my
Chain.?

Thats a Tecumseh motor. Since there is no shroud you would have to pull the head and measure the piston to determine if it was a 5,5.5,or 6hp. They were decent motors if you kept up with the maintenance but they are now out of business.
