83 FL250 novice!!!

Hi there, just got my "new" fl250, this thing is amazing, just trying to clean it up and have some fun with it. I've seen a bunch of them on here and they look really good. Glad this forum exist!!!

Nice Ody. Have you tried running it with that snorkel hose off? Hard to tell but it looks to small. You need seastbelts asap.

It looks like it is in good condition from a lot of the one I see. Nice job

thanks man, no I havent run it without it, does it make a big difference?, Looks like the hose is the stock one.

It could be stock it's hard to tell.

it came without the bottom seat and a bigger battery (need to make a tray) , the pullstart is gone it just has the cover bolted to the engine, has 2 headlights which im gonna try to put back to stock, missing the headlight sw and need to replace the steering rods (a little bent and one of them welded), 3 fenders that are cracked, missing the front left one, so its almost all there but needs some tlc

and the seat harness was in pretty bad shape but i have a new one, havent installed yet since im working on the seat bottom.

I may have a seat pan not sure. I have some tierods. No pull starts. No switches for your year.

Have you seen the battery trays I made for my ody's?

Your cage is in nice condition.

tierods would be nice!! and ya the battery tray on yours looks perfect, gave me some ideas, the cage has a couple dings and the front lower panel with a few scuffs, just like you said before its hard to find one straight.

Looks really nice. Should be easy to get looking really good. I would love to find one in that condition.

Remember though you cannnot power thru bumps and woops. It will pogo stick the back end up real bad. Keep your tire pressure real low as well.

Learn the Ody real good before you go redneck riding okay?

Do you have a welder? You have a GOKI electric start kit. Goki is who makes it. You can still get parts for them. You may be able to locate a Goke Battery Tray.

As you can see you have a $300 to $500 starter kit on your Ody. Nice find. They are well built kits that work very well.

yep I noticed that right away, any bump will make the back bounce a lot, my brother and I had some experience on that when we used to ride his 3 wheeler that didnt have rear suspension either, gotta be real careful plus wouldnt wanna damage the odyssey either. always wanted to get one and finally got the chance to. the jumping toys are a couple of atc 350X and a Raptor 660r, odyssey is going to be a cruiser.

If I was you I would get some seat foam and order some bew seat covers, ($40) then clean it up really good. Do not paint anything just elbow grease. Then save for a set of new fenders ($250)

You would have a nice original Ody. Your Ody is nice enough to try to bring back to original. They hold there value much better. Some need restored but your looks good enough to bring it back pretty easy.

Yep just the recoil starter. Goki starter is the aftermarket kit. Goki was the only one to make a starter for the FL250's. You need to take the cover off from time to time and make sure all the bolts are tight. You can bolt a recoil starter on as well and have both pull and ES. Thats what I would do and do.

thanks man, the odyssey has been painted before, I'm fixing up the fenders as good as I can for now until I have enough money for the new ones, I found a seat tray from a honda seat that seems to fit really good so I just need to get a cover for it and bolt it down, for the light switch I ended up going to radio shack and found a rotary switch and installed, works good off-low-hi hopefully someday I find the original one.
