Hi Group,
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this great group. I found from experience the internet is an excellent source for great wisdom. You don't have to go to the local shop to garner the info you need or share.

My question is:
A month ago my 10 year old daughter put water in the fuel tank of her 8 year old Yerf Dog go-kart, so when I drained the tank and carb bowl I lost the spring to the jet and therefore had to buy a carb rebuild kit. After rebuilding same it ran for a little bit until I went to adjust it, then I noticed the excess fuel flow. Now I have this excessive flow of gas coming out of my carb, even at rest. The little gas I placed in the tank is drained in a matter of hours.
What is the possible source of my problem. Hopefully I won't have to tear the carb down again.

Thanks all in advance,

Kevin

Sticking float/needle. Float could be perforated allowing it to drop (sink) and opens needle allowing more fuel in than engine can consume. Is float level correct? Carb will have to be opened to check.

Sounds like something is stuck in the Fuel Bowl Float Valve. If you pull the float and needle off, clean it, and reassemble, it should be good. Otherwise, the float or tab might have somehow got bent, and is letting too much gas into the carb. You can adjust the fuel level by CAREFULLY bending the tab on the float.

Thanks Jerry and Russ,
Looks like i'm going to have to take that journey again anyway and take apart the carb.

Is there a certain way that little white o-ring is installed under or atop the jet? I have a feeling this may be the culprit.

Thanks again,

Kevin
