Engine mods we have fitted: Mikuni VM22 & air filter, no governor, sanded the header and ported and polished it.
What upgrades do we do next? the engine has a stock plastic cam unlike the gx200 which is steel cam. Also springs are stock plus the flywheel stock.

How much money do I get to spend???
What size tires and gear ratio are you working with???
What is a top speed you would like to achieve???
How long of straights will you have to achieve that top speed???
Everybody thinks they want top speed, but how often are you actually driving at top speed? Like when people modify street cars for top end, but spend the whole time driving under 4500 RPM and half throttle.

Do you mean you modified the stock exhaust? Or you P&P'd an aftermarket exhaust??
If using the stock exhaust (modified or not), I'd upgrade that first. You can get something for around $25-$30 online (at least in the States). It will be loud.

I'm not familiar with that engine so not exactly sure what parts fit. I'd call ARC and/or DynoCams and verify before ordering anything.

1.) Connecting Rod
I'd try to get a billet connecting rod from ARC (or one of their distributors). It should run about $65.
2.) Flywheel
I'd get an aftermarket flywheel. I'd see if a PVL flywheel from Dynocams will work. They run about $65 and options that will fit a clone crank, a hemi Predator 212 crank, or can be made to fit a non-hemi Predator crank. Again, I'm not sure what style crank your engine uses so I can't make a specific recommendation. Same with the connecting rod.
3.) Camshaft
I'd upgrade that camshaft. Can't give a specific recommendation without checking clearances and knowing your tire size and gear ratio. The tire size and gear ratio will help you determine what rpm range you want the camshaft to be optimized for. The camshaft you select will determine the ignition timing you set. The aftermarket flywheel you purchase will probably be advanced from stock, but may not be optimized for your camshaft. You need to verify which style camshaft you need.
4.) Valve Springs
I'd upgrade the valve springs, but would need to match those to your camshaft. And certain types of rocker arms can only take springs up to a certain strength. I probably wouldn't want anything stiffer than 22lb springs using stock clone stamped rocker arms. Checking coil bind with aftermarket camshafts and valve springs is important.
5.) Rocker Arms
If your camshaft selection needs stiffer than 22 or 26 lb springs, you are probably going to want to upgrade the rocker arms. Or you could run some ratio rockers like 1.2 :1 or 1.3 :1 if you have the clearance. I'm not sure what style rocker arms your engine has. There are at least two styles that come on 212cc engines that I've seen. When swapping cams and rocker arms, it is important to check piston to valve clearances.

A fairly common cheap/mild (top speed) option if your engine uses the stamped rocker arms is something like a Mod2 camshaft ($50), with 1.3 rocker arms ($17), and 22lb valve springs ($7).

Figure you can get about 7200 RPM out of a setup like that (if gearing is right). A set up for that engine might be something like 5.4 :1 gear ratio with 13" tires (or 4.2 :1 with 10" tires) and should be able to reach above 50mph if total weight isn't too much.

Connecting rod, flywheel, camshaft, rocker arms, and valve springs will run you about $205-$220 plus shipping (you can add another $30 if you need an exhaust). This is a budget friendly option
if you're using an unworked stock head. Stock heads will have limited flow. So in order to give the engine more air, the valves need to be open longer - which the Mod2 camshaft does (245 degrees of duration vs stock which is probably like 220 degrees).

Rocker Arms
Your engine might not use this style rocker arms. If on a budget, and cheap 1.2 or 1.3 rockers are not available then you can just use the stock rocker arms with these 22 valve springs and still be in good shape.
